Note from the Assistant Managing Editor:

We begin this week with a reflection from Benedict XVI on the call of God to "Keep my commandments."  It's not just about following a set of rules: it's about love.  "Love for Christ expresses itself in the will to harmonize our own life with the thoughts and sentiments of his Heart."

My favorite piece this week is "The Romance of Ordinary Marriage." Your spouse is your greatest adventure.

"Most people who want Catholicism at all, want it straight up," writes David Warren.  And he describes how Cardinal Sarah did just that in his "Talk about silence" at St.  Augustine's Seminary in Toronto.

Fr. Raymond de Souza reports on another talk, this one given by Jordan Peterson at Queen's University in Toronto.  There the sideshow — protestors — were given more media attention than the lecture itself.  Fr. de Souza starts to correct that by paying more attention "to the arguments he is making, how he makes them, and why they resonate so widely."  See "The Peterson Protests."

Finally, the beautiful and inspiring story of "Servant of God Adele Dirsyte."  She was "modest and very quiet" and yet within her "burned the heart of a martyr, a queen, a saint."

There's only two weeks left of Lent.  Let's live them courageously — and generously!  Please take a moment to donate by clicking here. - Meaghen Hale
