Vox Clamantis in Deserto (A Voice Cries Out in the Desert)

  • DAN DOYLE

aamountainWhat does it take to deny a life?
Some arrogance, a little stupidity,
and a boat-load of fear, it seems.
Too many innocent ones
Have been sacrificed to ignorance.
Apologize! Apologize to the innocent!
Even if it is too late in finite time.
Make amends with honest tears.
Pray, beg them for their mercy
On broken and bended knees.
They will hear you.
And if you turn your fears
Into small sacrifices to love,
They will forgive you.
